Does it work in every app?
Yes. SayOrb types into whatever text field has your cursor: email, chat, documents, code editors, browsers and the terminal. Per-app styles and Modes let you tune how it writes in each one.
What happens to my voice and my screen?
Speech recognition and basic AI cleanup run on your Mac. Talk captures the screen only at the moment you press the key and never stores the screenshot. Meeting notes record only the call window, and recordings stay in your local library unless you make a share link.
Do I need an internet connection?
Not for everyday dictation, which runs on the device. Talk, the agent, AI meeting summaries and cloud transcription in 100+ languages use the network when you call on them.
How do meeting notes work without a bot?
SayOrb detects a call in Zoom, Google Meet, Teams or a Slack huddle and asks if you want notes. It listens to your mic and the call audio on your Mac, records just the meeting window, and writes a summary with decisions, action items and chapters. Nothing joins the call, and the Chrome extension can add real speaker names for browser meetings.
What happens when I hit my agent message limit?
Agent messages pause until your next monthly cycle, or until you upgrade. Dictation is never affected and keeps working as usual.
Can I use a key other than fn?
Yes. Pick any key or mouse button to hold. Command Mode adds Control to whatever key you choose.
Which Macs are supported?
SayOrb requires macOS 26 on a Mac with Apple silicon.
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. Dictation with on-device AI is free with no time limit, and your first 5 messages use SayOrb's AI. After that, connect your own AI (a ChatGPT or Claude subscription, or an API key) and keep using SayOrb for free.
Can the agent do something I didn't want?
It shows what it's about to do and gives you 5 seconds to cancel before it starts. Before anything you can't undo, like sending, deleting or buying, it stops and asks. You can stop it at any time, and it's set up not to type passwords or payment details.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from Settings › Account. That deletes your account and its usage data from our servers. Your recordings, notes, skills and memory stay on your Mac as plain files until you delete them.
